We are looking for outstanding candidates to fill several postdoctoral positions within the field of Computational Materials Science focusing on designs of optoelectronic, nanoelectronic and electrochemistry materials, as well as algorithm/method developments. These are positions for joint scientific research between Shenzhen University (Prof. Xiuwen Zhang) and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Dr. Lin-Wang Wang) and for a period of 2 years. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in the group of Dr. Lin-Wang Wang (http://cmsn.lbl.gov) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a visiting scholar. The candidate must have a doctoral degree in physics, materials science, or related areas before the date of committee interview, but can be later than the application deadline (Jun 30th, 2018). Background in scientific programming is also appreciated.

The basic compensation for these positions is about 300k RMB (~ 44k USD, at current exchange rates) per year, plus bonus depending on the work achievements. Qualified candidates who continue working in Shenzhen for a longer term after the 2-year period of postdoctoral research, can receive a bonus package (tax free) totaling 1.6 million RMB (~ 232k USD), to be distributed annually over 5 years; as well as a bonus package totaling 1 million RMB (~145k USD) depending on the education background, 60% to be distributed in the 2-year period of postdoctoral research and 40% after the postdoctoral research.
