An opportunity is available to join an ERC funded project on the dynamics of excitons in biological systems. The project involves the computation of electronic structure of medium sized molecules embedded in a protein environment and the development of model Hamiltonians to describe the coherent and incoherent dynamics of excitons.
You will be working in the research group of Prof. Alessandro Troisi and use the computational facilities provided by the Centre of Scientific Computing of our University. More information on the group can be found at http://www.warwick.ac.uk/go/troisigroup/.
You will possess a PhD in chemistry or physics and you have previous experience, supported by a strong publication record, on one or more of the following areas: (i) calculation of excited states of organic molecules, (ii) biophysical atomistic simulations, (iii) QM/MM calculations, (iv) non-adiabatic molecular dynamics or (v) quantum dynamics. You are familiar with high performance computing and scientific computer programming.
