Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A postdoctoral position (1+1 years) is immediately available in statistical physics/condensed matter physics/materials science on network taxonomies of materials.

The position is financed by the Institute of Complex Systems of the National Research Council of Italy, with a net salary of the order of 25keur/year. Activities will involve a close collaboration between a multidisciplinary group led by Prof. Guido Caldarelli at the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, and the group of Prof. Nicola Marzari at EPFL, leveraging the database activities of the MARVEL NCCR and the EU MaX Centre of Excellence.

The research will focus on the development and application of network theory to map the space of materials properties. The ideal candidate would have a solid background in statistical physics/condensed matter/materials science. Although previous experience in the field in complex networks and/or materials' simulations and/or machine learning are desirable, applications from researchers without post-doctoral experience are encouraged.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact directly Prof. Guido Caldarelli at [email protected] for further details, including also a current CV in the email.
