The Nanoscience and Technology Division/Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory has an available postdoctoral position within the Theory and Modeling Group.  The position is funded for one year with the possibility of  extension to a second year (subject to performance evaluation).

The successful candidate will work on problems in quantum plasmonics, information and sensing.  This work involves numerical and analytical analysis of the time evolution of quantum systems (e.g. semiconductor quantum dots and other excitonic systems or quantum materials) possibly in contact with plasmonic and other types of cavities and resonators.  A solid understanding of quantum mechanics and electrodynamics, as well as good scientific programming skills,  are advantageous.   Interested candidates should send a detailed curriculum vitae, including a list of publications and the names of three professional references,  through the Argonne web site at http://www.anl.gov/careers for requisition number NST 403342.   For additional questions, please contact Dr. Stephen K. Gray,  [email protected] .
