The Biophysical Sciences group at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory seeks a motivated post-doctoral fellow in computational biophysics to join a theoretical/experimental team whose focus is on elucidating catalytic principles and reactivity in enzymes that catalyze activation of energy-relevant molecules to empower the design of highly selective, efficient, and sustainable bio-inspired catalysts. The postdoc will work under the mentorship of Simone Raugei and Bojana Ginovska. The candidate will work on problems related to metalloenzymes for which a background in inorganic chemistry will be an asset. The candidate will interact with both theory and experimental colleagues on collaborative projects.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong background in computational chemistry or biophysics methodologies:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Biophysics, or related fields
- Experience with molecular dynamics simulation packages (Gromacs, NAMD, or similar)
- Experience with density functional theory codes (CPMD, Quantum espresso, CP2K, VASP, etc.) and/or quantum chemical software (Gaussian, NWChem, Games, or similar)
- Programming skills (Fortran, C, C++, Python or similar)
- Experience with modern high-performance computation platforms is a plus
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Independent and highly motivated
- Ability to work well in a team setting
