1. Type of position and affiliation

Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Integrated Cell-Materials Sciences (iCeMS), Kyoto University. The successful candidate will belong to the group of Daniel Packwood.

2. Content of work.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of novel electronics by performing theoretical investigations into organic thin film structure and properties. The specific topic and methodology will be chosen by the candidate. Note that our research group is sufficiently equipped for both analytic and computation-intensive research, and prefers to work on topics which are relevant to experimental colleagues.  

3. Type of candidate.

Candidates holding a doctorate degree and the following qualities.

• A strong background in EITHER mathematics, statistics, theoretical physics, or theoretical chemistry.

• An excellent record of scholarly achievement, including publication in reputable journals.

• The ability to work independently.

• Experience with computer programming is preferable.

• Proficiency with English*.

* Japanese language proficiency is not expected for candidates applying from abroad.

4. Terms of employment

Employment will begin as soon as possible and in principle will finish March 31 2020.

Employment beyond March 31 2020 will depend upon performance and the availability of research funds.

5. Salary

Salary will be set according to the rules of Kyoto University.
