A two-year postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Prof. Liping Yu at the University of Maine (Orono, USA) beginning immediately.

Work will focus on the design of novel 2D and 3D perovskite materials for optoelectronics applications, using a combination of first-principles density functional calculations and machine learning techniques.  Demonstrated experience in DFT calculations is required.  Good knowledge of solid-state physics and thermodynamics of materials and a basic level of understanding in machine learning and python programming are preferred.

Interested candidates should send their CV with contact information of at least two references to Prof. Liping Yu ([email protected]). There is no application deadline. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.

The University of Maine is the state land and sea grant R1 university and maintains a leadership role as the System’s flagship university. It is located in beautiful Central Maine. Many employees report that a primary reason for choosing to come to UMaine is quality of life.  Numerous cultural activities, excellent public schools, safe neighborhoods, high-quality medical care, little traffic, and a reasonable cost of living make the greater Bangor area a wonderful place to live.
