A postdoctoral position is available in the group of Angelo Bongiorno (Google Scholar) at the City University of New York, USA. Potential candidates must hold a Ph.D in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field, and they should have a strong background in solid state physics and first principles calculations. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to make significant contributions to the research activity of Bongiorno's group. Current research areas of interest
include (i) development and application of novel first-principles methods to study thermal expansion and elastic properties of materials at finite temperature and pressure, and (ii) development and application of first-principles approaches to study optical properties in the infrared range of complex anharmonic oxides.
