Job Description

We have an opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the area of machine learned atomistic simulations for polymeric systems under reactive and aging conditions. The successful candidate will actively participate in the development of models based on the Chebyshev Interaction Model for Efficient Simulations (ChIMES). The goal is to use these models to help elucidate the complicated chemistry that ensues in the presence of environmental stressors (e.g., radiolysis, hydrolysis). This position will require ChIMES model optimization as well as scientific software development and the implementation of new features in our in-house code.This position is in the Materials Dynamics and Kinetics group of the Materials Science Division. 

Candidate requirements: The candidate must hold a PhD degree in chemistry, physics, materials science or similar field. Experience in applying first-principles electronic structure codes to materials and interfacial systems is expected, in addition to method development and scientific programming skills with respect to the first principles data.
