Back to Job listings...
Candidates are invited to apply for a postdoctoral position in the field of computational or statistical physics related to water and solutions. The position will be based at ShanghaiTech University, Shanghai, China, in the research group of Dr. Zhaoru Sun.
The project will focus on the first-principles calculations and machine-learning molecular dynamics related to water and solutions. In particular, the work will involve the dissociation process of acids, proton and charge transfer in solutions, and the fluctuations in the hydrogen bonding network in combination with spectroscopic experiments.
Candidates should have a PhD degree in a relevant area of physics (or chemisty, material science, mathemetics) prior to the start of the appointment. Strong scientific programming experience, particularly in machine learning and/or theoretical modelling, is an advantage.
The position is for two years (one year plus one year renewable after evaluation). The starting date is flexible. We offer an annual salary of at least 300,000 RMB and on-campus accommodation for postdoctoral researchers. Excellent postdoctoral researchers can also apply for various postdoctoral programs, such as the "Boshin Plan" and the "Super Postdoctoral Plan", and those selected will receive additional payment according to the relevant regulations in Shanghai.
Candidates are also encouraged to visit the website of our group at Shanghtech University,

and contact the PI directly for any informal discussions on project details and potential suitability.
We are looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible, and the deadline for applications is 15 May, 2023.
