Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the group of Prof. Kirill Belashchenko (http://physics.unl.edu/~kirillb/) at University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). The research will involve computational studies of magnetic materials and nanostructures within the priorities of the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center and the Center for NanoFerroic Devices at UNL. The initial appointment will be for one year; it may be extended upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding. Candidates must hold a PhD degree in physics or a closely related subject and have working knowledge and experience in the theory and practice of first-principles calculations. Desirable qualifications include excellent background in solid state physics, ability to communicate with collaborators, including experimentalists, strong motivation, and creativity. Interested candidates should submit an application letter, a detailed CV in PDF format, and contact information for at least three references, to [email protected]. The application letter should briefly describe the relevant experience and contributions to research. Applicants with less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience are also asked to provide copies of their graduate academic transcripts.
