Postdoctoral Position in Computational Condensed Matter Physics at the University of North Texas
The group of Prof. Marco Buongiorno Nardelli in the Department of Physics at the University of North Texas invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Computational Condensed Matter Physics.
Successful candidates shall have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science or closely related field at the time of appointment. Knowledge of first principle electronic structure and programming experience are required. High proficiency in oral and written scientific English is highly desirable.
Preference will be given to applicants whose expertise complements and integrates with ongoing activities in the group (http://ermes.unt.edu) including theoretical developments of ab initio DFT-based methods, high-throughput techniques in materials genomics and computational materials design. As members of AFLOW, a distributed materials genome properties repository from high-throughput ab-initio calculation (http://www.aflow.org), close collaboration with other constituent groups is expected.
The review of applications will begin immediately. The posting is open until the search is closed. Positions are available with immediate starting date. Salary and benefits are competitive and the standard contract period is for 1 year with possibility for extensions.
