Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A postdoctoral research position for light-matter interactions is available in Prof. Dongbin Shin’s group at GIST.

Main research topic (Decide later depending on the background):

1) Light-induced dynamics in materials (topological phase transition, magnetism, and so on).
2) Model simulations for light-induced phenomena in condensed matter system based on the first-principle (classical, time-dependent Schrodinger, QED Hamiltonian )
3) Real-time pump-prove simulation using time-dependent density functional theory (real-time TDDFT, RPA, GW, BSE).
4) Multi-scale light-induced dynamics (MLFF or Model based on real-time TDDFT simulations)

Candidates must have received a Ph.D. degree in Physics or Materials Science.
A strong background in quantum mechanics and code development, including density functional theory and programming languages (Fortran and Python), is highly desirable.

Please send the application form(link) to [email protected] by the 27th of May.

Salary: 50 M KRW ~ 60 M KRW (depending on skill, and experience)

Location: GIST, Gwangju, South Korea

Contract Period: 1 year (first contract) and it can be extended up to 5 years (~2029.3)
