Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in theoretical and computational condensed-matter physics in the group of Prof. Carsten Ullrich at the University of Missouri (https://ullrichc.mufaculty.umsystem.edu). The main focus of the project will be to study excitonic effects in 3D and 2D materials using TDDFT and many-body techniques, both in the linear-response and in the real-time regime.

Candidates should have experience in theoretical and computational condensed-matter physics and/or material science, should be well versed in (TD)DFT and Green’s function methods for electronic structure and optical properties of materials, and should have good programming and parallel computing skills. Experience in working with codes such as Abinit, Quantum Espresso, Yambo, or Octopus will be a plus.

Applications should consist of a CV including list of publications, a brief statement of research interests and accomplishments, and the names and contact addresses of at least two references. Please send applications via email to Prof. Carsten Ullrich ([email protected]).

The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The University of Missouri is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages applications from women and minority candidates.
