Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A full-time postdoctoral research position is available in Professor Beth Nowadnick’s computational materials physics group at University of California, Merced. This position will focus on frustrated magnetism in complex oxides, and will explore connections between the structural, magnetic, and electronic properties of these materials. The project is part of a collaboration with several experimental and theoretical research groups across the US, and the postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to work closely with these collaborators. More information on the Nowadnick research group can be found at https://sites.ucmerced.edu/bnowadnick or by contacting Beth Nowadnick at [email protected].

Highly motivated applicants with a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field are invited to apply. Experience with density functional theory calculations is required, and experience with theoretical and/or computational approaches for treating correlated solids is preferred. To apply, please submit your CV, a one-page description of current and future research interests, and contact information for three references to https://aprecruit.ucmerced.edu/JPF01377
