The Theoretical Materials Physics Group at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a postdoc position starting in the summer or fall of 2021. The position is on the study of correlated transition metal compounds with an emphasis on the coupling between the electronic correlations and the crystal structure. Prior experience with first principles calculations using DFT, and exposure (or willingness to learn about) first principles many-body approaches (especially DFT+DMFT) are highly preferred. The position requires collaborative skills to work with experimentalists as well as other theorists under the Center for Quantum Materials http://cqm.umn.edu/ . Highly motivated candidates with a degree from physics, chemistry, materials science or related fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants should send their CV and a list of two referees to Turan Birol [email protected] . Review of applications will begin immediately, and continue until the position is filled.
The University of Minnesota is an equal opportunity educator and employer.
