The theory group led by Prof. Emmanouil (Manos) Kioupakis in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the field of computational materials physics. The group’s research focuses on developing and applying electronic-structure methods to understand and predict the properties of semiconductors and other functional materials. More information on the group’s recent activities can be found on the group website: https://kioupakisgroup.engin.umich.edu/
The postdoctoral opening focuses on electron-phonon physics and semiconductor theory. The work is part of a collaborative project with the groups of Prof. Feliciano Giustino at the University of Texas at Austin and Prof. Roxana Margine at Binghamton University (State University of New York). The project aims to develop new methods and functionalities for modeling quantum processes assisted by electron-phonon interactions in the open-source EPW code.
Applicants should have or expect to obtain a PhD or equivalent degree in computational materials physics or related fields. Application materials include (1) CV, including list of publications, (2) a statement of research interests, including previous research experience, future research goals, and your overall career objectives, and (3) the names and contact information of at least 2 and up to 3 references. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. The initial appointment will be for 1 year, with the expectation that it will be renewed upon mutual agreement. Applications should be submitted via the following website: https://forms.gle/4KBDf4aqF7fsEWWJ7
