A postdoctoral position is open in the group of Prof. Miguel Marques at the Institut of Physics of the Martin-Luther-University of Halle-Wittenberg. This person will work on the theoretical discovery of new materials using a combination of high-throughput techniques, machine learning, and global structural prediction methods. Qualifications: Applicants must hold a PhD in Physics or Chemistry, and have a strong background in first principles electronic structure theory and/or quantum chemistry methods. Good programming skills (python, C, and/or Fortran) are very important.

Salary appointment terms: The position is available immediately for a period of 2 years. The appointment will be made at the TV-L E13 level. You can find information concerning German academic salaries here.
