Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Quantum Simulations Group at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory led by Dr. Vincenzo Lordi (https://qsg.llnl.gov/).

The successful candidate will work with Dr. Tuan Anh Pham in the area of multi-scale modeling of nanofluidics. Specifically, the selected candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team funded by a DOE EFRC grant (https://science.energy.gov/bes/efrc/centers/cent/) to develop comprehensive understanding of the structure and transport properties of confined solutions. The focus of this project will be to address the effects of carbon nanotube pore size and chemistry on the structure, dynamics, and phase transitions of solvated ions and aqueous solutions under confinement.

Postdoctoral candidates should have earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field. The ideal candidates should have strong expertise in electronic structure methods, first‐principles and classical molecular dynamics calculations, and knowledge of high performance computing.

Please email Tuan Anh Pham ([email protected]) with questions or inquiries about the position. Interested candidates should visit the LLNL website careers.llnl.gov and search the posting ID: 104592.
