Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A postdoctoral position in modeling of materials for solar energy applications (metal oxides for water-splitting and halide perovskites for solar cells) is available at the Department of Physics of Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden.

The proposed project aims to complement material searches with comprehensive modelling based on state-of-the-art high-level of theory electronic structure methods. The main tasks of the successful applicant will be to work on including various relevant physical phenomena into models and develop modified descriptors for material searches. Focus will be put especially on the nature of the charge carriers and their interaction with defects close to the surface, and in ambient conditions. Depending on the interest of the candidate, the project might involve high-throughput and machine learning approaches.

You should hold a doctoral degree in physics, chemistry or materials science and have a documented experience in computational modeling and electronic structure calculations; the degree should generally not be older than three years.
