Job Description:

One Postdoctoral Associate position is available for theoretical investigation of resistivity switch mechanism of selected transition metal oxides in support of multi-year Department of Defense, Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) Multidisciplinary University Research Initiatives (MURI) Program.

This position will report to Assistant Professor, Dr. Wei-Cheng Lee, and is located in the new Smart Energy building at Binghamton University. The information about Dr. Lee's group can be found at

Expected start date is: December 2019 or later (negotiable)

Selection process will start around mid Sep. 2019 and this position remains open until filled.

Requirements:

  • PhD in physics or other fields related to condensed matter physics with demonstrated experiences in either density-functional theory (DFT) calculations using VASP/WIEN2k, or quantum many body theory
  • Demonstration of the ability to develop codes for calculating response functions using DFT results
  • Strong writing, analytical and statistical skills required for grant-related publications
  • Other related duties as assigned

Preferred:

  • Strong background in quantum many body theory
