The research group of Prof. Jun Cheng at Xiamen University, China is looking to fill 2 postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) positions. The project is to develop computational method/theory to describe the transfer of charges (i.e. electrons and protons) at solid-liquid interfaces.

The candidates are required to have a PhD degree in chemistry, physics, material sciences or related areas. Experience on electronic structure theories (DFT and beyond), computational simulations of solids, and/or sampling methods (molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo) is preferred.

The gross salary is RMB 200,000 (roughly 27,000 euros) per annum, and there is an incentive mechanism (iChem Postdoc/Fellow) in place in the Department after successful performance review. The University provides on-site accommodation for PDRAs at a much lower rate than the market price, and offers RMB 1000 per month for compensation if chosen to rent off-campus.  Other benefits (e.g. pension, insurance and housing fund) will be offered according to the university policies, and the university has an affiliated nursery and school to provide good childcare and education for children. The positions are available for two years at the initial instance, with the possibility of extension based on mutual agreement.
