Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Postdoc positions available in DFTQSG Group

We are looking for interested and potential candidate for postdoc positions in the form of Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship (IPDF) (https://www.niser.ac.in/content/post-doctoral-fellow-positions).

We are working in the group Density Functional Theory & Quantum Simulations Group (DFTQSG) (more info:http://www.niser.ac.in/~psamal/) at School of Physical Sciences, NISER Bhubaneswar. We are working on first principle density functional theory and their development with potential applications. Our primary research focus is based on formalism, exchange-Correlation functional in three-dimensions, development of the Pseudo-potential approach for meta-GGA functional, applying meta-GGA range-separated functional in the time-dependent DFT, TDDFT applied to molecules and solids with meta-GGA kernels, implementation of meta-GGA range-separated hybrid functional in the all-electron codes, development of dielectric dependent meta-GGA level range-separated hybrid functional and study of the meta-GGA level hybrid functional in the prediction of excited state properties.

Required skills : the ideal candidate should have a PhD in computational ab initio Condensed Matter Physics or Chemistry with a strong taste for theory and formalism with relevant applications.

How to apply: Interested candidates can directly write to the mentor of the DFTQSG Group Prof. Prasanjit Samal ([email protected]) with latest CV and research interest with list of publications. Two to three contact details of academic referees are required to send with this CV. The hiring process will start at the earliest possible.
