A 2 years postdoc position is available at the University of Liège to do theory and code development of crystal chirality in the ABINIT code (Berry phase theory, chirality).
Chirality has been extensively studied in molecules, organic crystals and liquid crystals. However, its study in inorganic periodic solids has been somewhat overlooked while numerous avenues and open important questions remain to be explored. Developing and extending the concept of chirality in solid-state physics is particularly timely with numerous important impacts going from general scientific and fundamental knowledge to everyday industrial applications like pharmaceutical medicines production or modern information technologies.
Candidates with experience/motivation in doing theory and code development are strongly welcome to apply for the position.
