Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The research group of Prof. Roser Valentí at the Institute for Theoretical Physics,
Goethe University of Frankfurt has an opening for a two-year postdoctoral
position (with possibility of extension) in the field of computational solid state
physics / strongly correlated systems.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in solid state
physics at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Goethe University of
Frankfurt.

The candidate should have a PhD degree in theoretical condensed matter
physics with an excellent academic background and good computational skills.
Experience in the field of correlated electron systems with special emphasis on
Quantum Monte Carlo simulations and density functional theory (DFT) is
expected.

The research will be in the fields of:

-unconventional superconductors (copper oxides, Fe-based
superconductors, organic superconductors)

-frustrated magnetism

-ab initio Quantum Monte Carlo

-DFT+DMFT (Dynamical Mean Field Theory)

The appointment will start at the earliest after a suitable candidate has been
chosen. The selection process will take place as soon as possible until the
position is filled.
Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a summary of the past
research activities and arrange for  three reference letters to be sent to
