Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A postdoctoral position is available in the group of Prof. Diana Qiu (https://qiugroup.yale.edu/) at Yale University.

The position focuses on developing and applying first principles techniques to study materials’ excited-state properties, with a special focus on exciton dynamics, transport and relaxation processes in large-scale and nanostructured condensed matter systems. The initial appointment is one year with possible extension to up to three years based on availability of funding and mutual agreement. Consideration of candidates will begin on July 1 and will continue until the position is filled.

Preferred qualifications:

(1) Ph.D. in theoretical physics, chemistry, materials science or a closely related discipline

(2) Expert knowledge of density functional theory and/or many-body perturbation theory (such as GW-BSE)

(3) Familiarity with programming and development of ab initio excited-state methods is an advantage

To apply, please send a CV and a brief cover letter (including a list of three references) to Diana Qiu ([email protected]).
