Shandong University (SDU) is a time-honored, comprehensive university under the Ministry of Education, China. As one of the original institutions for modern higher education in China, SDU has received high respect world widely.

The Environment Research Institute at Shandong University was established in November 2003. It is an independent unit directly under the university for supporting scientific research and postgraduate training.

Discipline construction has always been one of the priorities of the Environmental Research Institute. There are 4 disciplines conferring doctorate degrees, including 2 first-level disciplines, environmental science and engineering, and 2 second-level disciplines, environmental chemistry and environmental biology. The main research fields are: environmental chemistry, environmental toxicology, environmental biology and environmental ecology.

A new Post-doc position is opened at the Environment Research Institute, Shandong University, China, co-supervised by Prof. Narcisse Tsona and Prof. Lin Du. Our research operates different theoretical and experimental techniques on physical and chemical processes relevant to the environment. The successful applicant will apply computational techniques to assess the reactivity of emerging environmental pollutants.

Requirements

- Has obtained a PhD degree in Atmospheric/Environmental Chemistry, Physics or related field, within the past two years. Candidates within six months of completing their PhD studies are welcome to apply as well.

- Experience in electronic structure calculations, with proven ability to use Gaussian and VASP.

- Good knowledge in Chemical thermodynamics and physical chemistry

- Knowledge of the use of reaction kinetics models is a plus!
