A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Prof. Qimin Yan in the Department of Physics at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA.
- Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. Experience in first-principles material simulations, python programming, and condensed matter physics is required. Experience in electronic structures and the excited-state properties of two-dimensional materials is highly desirable.
- Research goals: modeling, understanding, and data-driven design of 2D materials and their moiré heterojunctions for optoelectronics and energy conversion applications. Topics of interest include the study of moiré and interlayer excitons, symmetry-hypothesis-driven design of 2D heterojunction systems with desirable light-matter interactions, and quantum phenomena associated with optical excitation and recombination processes in 2D environments. Collaborations with experimental research groups and other theoretical/computational research groups are expected.
- Period of Employment: The initial appointment is for one year, renewable upon mutual agreement up to three years.
- Begin Date: immediate but can be flexible.
- Application: Interested candidates should send via e-mail (to [email protected]) a curriculum vitae, with a list of publications and the names and addresses of three references.
