Postdoc position is available in Centre of Excellence for Science and Technology at the University of Split, Croatia under the supervision of prof. dr. dr. h. c. Vlasta Bonačić-Koutecký

in the following areas:

(1) Theoretical design of new nanostructured material for biosenzorics and their application in medical diagnostics.

or

(2) Theoretical design of new material for solar cell with application for renewable energy

In the first research area the investigation will be focused on structural and optical (linear and nonlinaer properties) of nano-bio-hybrid systems.

In the second research area photo-chemical properties of organic dyes will be simulated.

In both cases the aim is to design new materials with improved efficiency.

The international cooperation with experimental groups is planned.

The candidates should have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry or related Physical Science and a track record of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact factor journals. An excellent communications skills in English are also essential. Experience in theoretical modeling using classical and first principles simulation codes would also be an advantage. Skills in programing and improving theoretical approaches will be highly appreciated. The candidates should have a strong background in theoretical simulations and interest in interdisciplinary research.
