Postdoc position for responsibly advancing NOMAD ... (No replies)
Back to Job listings...
NOMAD / FAIR-DI encourages highly motivated excellent postdocs to apply for a position for responsibly advancing the NOMAD Repository & Archive. The work includes, in particular, maintenance, coordination, and advancements of parsers and parser infrastructure.
To recall, the NOMAD Repository (https://nomad-repository.eu) supports 40 different codes used by the community. Data produced by theses codes can be uploaded for free, and open-access data are transformed into a code-independent unified form, the NOMAD Archive.
Note that the NOMAD Laboratory (https://nomad-coe.eu) has recently joined the association FAIR Data Infrastructure e.V. (https://fairdi.eu) and represents its computational-materials-science pillar.
The ideal candidate should have experience in large code-development projects, including programming in Python, FORTRAN and/or C++, and knowledge in databases (elastic search, mongo db, Postgres) and cloud computing. Background in code development for any of the most widely used electronic-structure codes, very good English and communication skills are a must.
The position is currently limited to 2 years, but we expect that we can offer a long-term perspective thereafter.
Please, send your application to [email protected].
Looking forward to welcome an excellent candidate in an international interdisciplinary team,
Claudia Draxl and Matthias Scheffler
