Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available in the computational quantum materials research group led by Prof. Zhenglu Li at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, USA), starting in Summer/Fall 2023 (negotiable). Group website: https://sites.usc.edu/ligroup/

This role will focus on the application and development of advanced excited-state methods including GW perturbation theory for electron-phonon coupling and time-dependent GW for non-equilibrium dynamics. Research topics include superconductivity, excitons, and coherent dynamics in systems ranging from complex oxides to 2D materials.  Ideal candidates will have experiences in first-principles computation of quantum materials on their excited-state, excitonic, and electron-phonon coupling properties, in particular with the GW, GW-BSE, DFPT, and/or TDDFT approaches.  Code development experience (Python/Fortran) is preferred.

Applicants are encouraged to directly contact Zhenglu by email ([email protected]) along with CV and a brief statement of research interests.
