Position Requirements

            We expect you to have:

• A recent Ph.D., preferably in materials science, physics
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary field of research
• Proficient skills in VASP or LAMMPs. Strong scientific programming ability and experience in materials research with artificial intelligence are preferred
• Good experience in molecular dynamics simulation of metal systems
• Strong motivation about science and research. Good English language (reading, writing, and speaking) and communication skills

We offer:

The basic annual salary of the postdoctoral position 300,000 RMB (roughly 46,000 $), a very low tax for foreigners. We encourage you to apply for Shanghai Super-Postdoc Program, you could obtain an extra 150,000 RMB per year if successful. On-campus accommodation is provided by the university for ~150 $ per month.

(2) Funding opportunities

You have a chance to apply China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (the supporting rate is high). You also could apply the funding for foreigners.

(3) Advanced computing facilities national wide

Access to Tianhe supercomputer, Shanghai supercomputer, and local clusters.

(4) International work environment

We currently have colleagues from UK, US, France, Japan, Russia, Poland, Italy, etc.

(5) Faculty position is possible

Shanghai University has plenty of faculty positions for foreigners. By the end of the contract, you could apply for a faculty position.
