In the Quantum Chemistry group of Prof. A. Daniel Boese at the University of Graz, Austria, there is a PostDoc (University Assistant with Doctorate) position available:

The Institute of Chemistry is looking for a University Assistant with doctorate (40 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 3 years; position to be filled as of now )

Job specification:

  • Supervision of Bachelor/Master Students
  • Teaching within the chemistry curriculum
  • Computation of organic hydrates and clathrates
  • Application of periodic boundary conditions as well as quantum chemical programs
  • Development of Theory (Symmetry Adapted Perturbation Theory/ Density Functional Theory)
  • Cooperative Development of Computational Chemistry Software
  • Preparation of Scientific Publications

Professional qualifications

  • Doctorate/Ph.D. in chemistry or physics
  • Experience in electronic structure theory and weak interactions
  • Software developments skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in the English language

Personal profile

  • Communication and organisational skills and ability to work in teams
  • Ability to work independently

Classification
Salary scheme of the Universitaeten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1
Minimum salary
The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 3546.00 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
