Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Uppsala University hereby declares the following position to be open for application:

Postdoc position in Dynamical Mean Field Theory and theory of x-ray and photoelectron spectroscopy

at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Starting date: February 2020.

The postdoc will develop and use multi-configuration methods, within the framework of Dynamical Mean Field Theory, for calculations of x-ray and photoelectron spectroscopy. Applications of the developed methods is for materials used in “green” energy solutions, e.g. transition metal oxides. Interaction with experimental partners is an important part of the research.

The applicant is expected to have a PhD degree in Physics, with a good background in solid-state physics and theory in general. The application should include a statement of research interest, CV, certificates of exams, degrees and grades, a copy of the PhD thesis, or equivalent, published articles and other relevant materials, if available. Also, letter(s) of recommendation can be included.

The position is open for two years.
