A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Nick Jackson in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The postdoctoral position will involve the development of computational methodologies for coarse-grained electronic structure predictions in soft materials. The position is available immediately.
Qualifications for this position include a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields. Previous experience in coarse-graining, electronic structure theory, and/or machine learning is desirable. Expertise in Python and either C/C++ or Fortran is desirable. The applicant will conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner, contribute to the project intellectually, and participate in writing scholarly papers and mentoring junior group members. Initial appointments will be for one year with the possibility for additional years of support provided adequate progress on the project and mutual agreement.
