Back to Job listings...
We have available one postdoc position in the field of Theoretical Chemistry / Computational Material Science / Condensed Matter Physics at the Rudjer Boskovic Institute (RBI) in Zagreb, Croatia. The position is part of a grant focused on the mechanochemical and computational study of templated porous materials. The applicant will work on Molecular Dynamics and periodic DFT modeling of Metal Organic Frameworks and other porous materials, with an emphasis on guest absorption and guest-framework interactions.
Postdoc candidates should possess a PhD in the field of Chemistry or Physics, and are expected to have experience in computational molecular modeling (density functional theory, molecular dynamics, etc.). Preference will be given to applicants with experience in modeling of host-guest interactions, especially by MD methods. Only candidates who enrolled their PhD max. 10 years ago can apply. Postdoc contract will last until June 30th 2026.
The monthly salary after taxes is approximately 1500 €. On top of that health insurance (including dental coverage) is provided, as well as local transportation fees. Researchers younger than 30 are eligible for partial tax return. The grant funding this position also allows for travel to conferences, workshops, exchanges, etc. The cost of living in Croatia is still relatively low, and Zagreb is a vibrant city with a lot of available activities, so the quality of life here is very good.
Postdoc candidates should send their CV with a publication list, as well as a short cover letter. A procedure for the recognition of a non-Croatian PhD degree will be necessary for the selected candidate. For sending preliminary applications or any other information please contact Ivana Brekalo ([email protected]).
