Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A postdoc position in theoretical and computational chemistry is available in the (newly established) Lee Research Group (https://joonholeegroup.com) at Harvard University in Cambridge, USA.

The group has a broad research interest in theoretical and computational chemistry. PI’s (Joonho Lee) publication list is available on Google Scholar for more details.

A successful candidate will work on projects in some of the following areas depending on one’s research interest:

Electron correlation methods for materials

Polaron theory

Open quantum system dynamics

Electrocatalysis

Quantum computing for chemistry

Candidates with strong method development experience in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, applied mathematics, and condensed matter physics are highly encouraged to apply.

Besides research, the postdoc will help the PI nurture the research environment as one of the founding members and mentor junior graduate and undergraduate students as needed.

The preferred start date is any time after July 1, 2023. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal depending on continued funding and satisfactory performance.
