Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the EM2C lab of the CNRS at the CentraleSuperlec (Ecole Centrale Paris) in Paris in France. The candidate will participate on the theoretical investigation of novel thermoelectric materials. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of Prof. Sebastian Volz.
As a candidate, you hold or be about to obtain a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics, Chemistry or Material Science. Experience on thermoelectric energy conversion, familiarity with large computational calculations for Materials Science, and expertise with common programming languages are desirable. Experience of ab-initio techniques especially for the calculations of the phonon bands and thermal transport will constitute an advantage. Proven excellent communication skills, ability of collaborating with both senior and junior scientists, and excellence in independent research, are fundamental for the success of the applicant.
You will be given the possibility to work in the active environment of the Ecole Centrale de Paris and to interact with the lively community of ab-initio calculations in Paris.
The position should start as soon as possible, with a reasonable time frame of September/October 2015, and will last for 2 years.
