Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (LBNL) Materials Sciences Division has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the group of Dr. Sinéad Griffin.

In this role, you will focus on the description and design of quantum materials with applications to high-energy physics and quantum sensing using first-principles calculations.

In this position you will explore the understanding and manipulation of quantum materials for sensing and dark matter detection. It will include close collaboration with other theorists and with experimentalists, both in condensed matter and other fields, to design and characterize quantum materials and their interactions with dark matter models. This appointment is joined between the Molecular Foundry and the Materials Sciences Division in the group of Dr. Sinéad M. Griffin. This is a full-time 2 year, postdoctoral appointment with salary dependent on years of experience post-degree.
