Dear All, 
 
A Postdoc position (100% TVL-E13, 2 years) or PhD student (75% TVL-E13, 3 years) is available starting at the Institute for Mathematics at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany in probability theory, in particular in connection with computer simulations of interacting particle systems. The earliest starting date is July 1st. 
 
The position is part of the TRR 146 Multiscale Simulation Methods for Soft Matter Systems.
The Postdoc/PhD will work with Lisa Hartung and Omar Valsson (MPI for Polymer Research, Mainz) on a project at the interface of probability theory and theoretical/computational physics. 
 
Applicants for a Postdoc position are expected to hold a PhD in Mathematics and have a strong background in probability theory. Applicants for a PhD position should hold the equivalent of a Master degree in mathematics with emphasis on probability theory/stochastic analysis.
