Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Italian Institute of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral position within the Quantum Materials Theory Research Line in Genoa.

We are looking for a motivated candidate with a strong background and a PhD Degree in theoretical/computational condensed matter physics or related disciplines, ability to carry out a project to completion with a degree of independence, interest in collaborating with experimental groups, interest in occasional teaching and strong team-working skills.

Our main interests are in the following fields:

* Phenomenological and microscopic modeling of magnetic/ferroelectric/multiferroic materials, their ultrafast dynamics and domain wall-related phenomena (main tools: Landau theory, model Hamiltonians, DFT, DMFT)

* Frustrated magnetism, non-collinear spin textures, magnetic interactions driven by strong spin-orbit coupling

* Halide perovskites and organic-inorganic hybrid materials for optoelectronics

Interested applicants should submit a CV with a list of publications, contact information of 2 referees and a brief motivation letter + summary of the past research activities to [email protected] quoting “Post doc CB 77164” in the subject of the e-mail.
