Dear Colleagues,

a postdoc position is available at the Italian Institute of Technology (Genova).

The main interests of our group are:

  • Phenomenological and microscopic modeling of magnetic, ferroelectric and multiferroic materials, their dynamics and physics of domain walls (tools: Landau theory, model Hamiltonians, DFT and beyond-DFT methods)
  • Frustrated magnetism, non-collinear spin textures, magnetic interactions driven by strong spin-orbit coupling from DFT
  • Theoretical spectroscopy of materials with complex orders
  • electron-phonon coupling, polarons and trapped excitons

Requirements: a PhD in theoretical/computational condensed matter physics, interest in solving experimentally-relevant problems, interest in occasional teaching and strong team-working skills. Knowledge of Mathematica/ab-initio codes is a plus.

Interested applicants should submit a CV with a list of publications, 2 references and a brief motivation letter stating past research highlights at

https://iit.taleo.net/careersection/ex/jobdetail.ftl?lang=en&job=2100000P

The position is available immediately.
