Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Department of Energy Conversion and Storage at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Energy) invites applications for a 2-year postdoc position to work in the area of theory and modelling of organic optoelectronic materials based on thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). The project is funded by the Villum Foundation through the Villum Experiment program. The aim is to develop a computational framework for accelerated discovery of new TADF emitters using a combination of physics-based theoretical models and data-driven machine learning techniques. The research project will be carried out in the Section for Atomic Scale Materials Modelling. We provide an international, inspiring and dynamic research environment.

Responsibilities and tasks

You will contribute to the development of novel computational approaches to accelerated discovery of molecular materials. You will be responsible for the implementation and parametrization of theoretical models of TADF based on model Hamiltonians as well as implementation and applications of algorithms for machine learning and optimization.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD degree in theoretical chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related field.

The successful candidate will have working knowledge and skills in at least two of the following areas:

  • Molecular or condensed-matter quantum mechanics
  • Electronic structure calculations of photoactive molecules
  • Machine learning and/or optimization algorithms

Please describe clearly in the cover letter your qualifications in these areas.

Scientific programming skills are a requirement.

Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are a requirement.
