Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position available within the Quantum Materials Theory group led by S. Artyukhin at Italian Institute of Technology, Genoa, Italy.

The group combines first-principles and model calculations and closely works with experimental groups to address relevant problems in the following areas:

* modeling of magnetic, ferroelectric and multiferroic materials, their dynamics and domain wall-related phenomena

* magnetic interactions driven by strong spin-orbit coupling; frustrated and non-collinear magnets, their excitations and dynamics

* theoretical spectroscopy of transition metal oxides and organic-inorganic hybrid materials for optoelectronics

We are looking for a motivated candidate with strong background in theoretical and computational condensed matter physics. The following competences are considered advantageous: experience with Landau theory, model Hamiltonians, DFT, Mathematica, DMFT, EPW, strong team working skills, ability to work with a degree of independence, interest in collaborating with experimental groups, interest in occasional teaching.
