Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Postdoctoral positions in theoretical/computational condensed matter are available immediately in the group of Sergey Artyukhin at the Italian Institute of Technology, Genova, Italy. The research program is focused on materials with complex orders, such as non-collinear magnets, ferroelectric and multiferroic materials. Switching and domain wall-related phenomena in ferroics, magnetism in materials with strong spin-orbit coupling, ultrafast phenomena are of particular interest. We use analytical and first-principles methods.

The successful candidate will pursue his/her own research in these areas, contribute to supervision of graduate students and interact with external collaborators. We closely collaborate with experimental groups to contribute to the understanding of puzzling experimental data.

A publication record, excellent knowledge of theoretical and computational condensed matter theory, good command of written and spoken English are required. Familiarity with Mathematica, DMFT is a plus. A Ph.D. is required for this position.
