An EPSRC-funded postdoctoral research position is available to conduct computational research into simulating and analysing electron diffraction in scanning electron microscopes. The post is based in the Semiconductor Spectroscopy and Devices group at the Department of Physics, University of Strathclyde. The Department is number one in the UK for research as of the 2014 UK Research Excellence Framework.

Previous experience and a track record of publishing in either computational modeling of materials, simulating electron microscopy images or machine learning is required. Applied practical experience in the development, conduct and troubleshooting of computational tools is also important for this position.
