A postdoctoral position is available in the research group led by Prof. Aron Walsh in the Department of Materials at Imperial College London. It is part of the Thomas Young Centre for the Theory and Simulation of Materials and the Faraday Institution for Energy Storage.
Research will be performed as part of the multi-scale modelling theme in the Faraday Institution. The role will involve atomistic simulations of thermal and defect processes in the latest generation of lithium battery materials. Areas of interest include, but are not restricted to, phonon dispersion and thermal transport, theoretical defect spectroscopy, transport phenomena, materials data and informatics.
Experience in density functional theory applied to crystalline solids is essential. Knowledge of electrochemical energy storage and additional experience with defect processes and electron transport is advantageous.
The position is funded for up to 3 years and can commence from March 2018. Apply on https://www.imperial.ac.uk/jobs/description/ENG00192/research-associate-electronic-structure-theory-battery-materials
