We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in theoretical condensed matter physics within the group of Prof. Ruixing Zhang at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The initial appointment will be one year, but is renewable for another one or two years, depending on the availability of funding and mutual agreement. The successful candidate is expected to explore new topological phenomena in quantum materials, in particular the interplay between topological physics and superconductivity, defects, strong correlations, quantum dynamics, etc.
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field (degree to be completed no later than 08/31/2023). Candidate should have rich research experience and a strong publication record in theoretical quantum condensed matter physics, broadly defined. Research expertise on topological band theory and/or superconductivity will be a valuable asset, but is not required.
Applicants should provide: (1) A CV, including a publication list. (2) A statement of research interests and accomplishments. (3) A minimum of two letters of recommendation. Please send them to [email protected].
Review of applications will begin on Dec. 1st, 2022, and will continue until the position is filled.
