Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

We announce an open postdoc position in the group of Jan Kuneš at the Masaryk University Brno, Czechia, with the focus on physics of A-site active perovskites of 3d transition metals. We are looking for a candidate with a background either in material specific calculations for strongly correlated materials including electron-lattice coupling or many-body methods, e.g., dynamical mean-field theory or variational Monte Carlo.

The appointment will be for one year with a possibility of extension. The expected starting date is winter 2024.

A successful candidate is expected to study the correlations between magnetic phase diagrams and crystal structures and/or perform simulations of various spectroscopies (ARPES, RIXS, XAS). Close collaboration with experimental groups is expected.

Our recent research topics can be found on https://www.ifp.tuwien.ac.at/kunes.

Interested candidates should send their application including CV and list of publications to [email protected]
