We seek a motivated Postdoctoral fellow interested in combining software engineering skills (Python web frameworks e.g., Django, FastAPI, Flask) into data driven materials innovation. You will contribute to the development of novel innovative cloud platforms for data driven applications and machine learning apps aimed at fundamental materials research problems. We are looking for someone that is passionate for scientific software development and has string affinity to modern cloud computing, especially with Python frameworks. You will be collaborating as part of an international team of developers dedicated to advancing open-source scientific applications. Your software will have a direct impact on how we discover and investigate materials. The position is initially for 12 months. You will benefit from associate membership of UCL’s Advanced Research Computing Centre (ARC) during this time. At the end of the 12 months fixed term there is the opportunity to move to a full-time permanent position as a Research Software Engineer within ARC, subject to suitable performance evaluation.
